Nottinghamshire Cricket Academy

Little Stoke Cricket Club have forged a revolutionary link with Nottinghamshire CCC where The Little Stoke Cricket Academy which was formed in 2007 takes advise and learns from their 1st Class Academy, how to develop their players successfully.

Nottinghamshire's Cricket Director Chris Tolley has been very helpful in advising Little Stoke on how to organise and develop the role of The Academy as a centre to improve and develop young players.

If the results in 2007 are anything to go by with 10 Cups and Titles secured. Plus 12 youngsters representing Staffordshire, the link has made a immediate impact.

The Nottinghamshire Academy was established in 2002 has built up its own reputation of finding and developing young talent and currently has two Staffordshire based players in their ranks.

History of Little Stoke Cricket Club

Little Stoke Cricket Club was formed in 1946. Early records show that the club came into existence when Aston by Stone Cricket Club, who was a club with a ground but no players after the war and The Christchurch Cricket Club who had players but no ground, joined forces.

A meeting at Aston Village Hall on 14th January 1946 brought Little Stoke Cricket Club into existence. Take a trip down menory lane and look at our clubs captains, players, professionals and the many members who have all been part of Little Stoke Cricket Club since that January night in 1946.

Little Stoke Cricket Academy

Little Stoke already have a reputation for finding and developing young talent. Over our history three of our boys have gone on to be offered First Class Contracts, the most recent being Middlesex's Alan Richardson.

To reinforce the claim that Little Stoke is a hotbed of talent. In 2007 twelve of our juniors actually played for Staffordshire Youth Charity.

To continue this development and to maximise the potential of their young players, Little Stoke are launching an Academy scheme that brings some of the best coaches in Staffordshire to their club to work throughout the age groups.

At the top of our junior squads we will form a group of under 20's squad who will be coached by Graham Warner the successful Staffordshire Coach and former Warwickshire Batsman. Graham will be supported by Richard Harvey Staffordshire Captain and Rob Hayden Club Captain.

The main objective of this squad is to aid the transition for young players from Junior to Senior Teams.
